Each microchip has a unique code that a specialist scanner can read. The code connects to the UK database of pet owners and will show the owner's contact details. Certain authorities use these scanners including, vets, rescue shelters and animal welfare charities. So, if your pet arrives at an animal rescue shelter, they will be able to see that the animal belongs to you and contact you ASAP.

This involves a routine blood test with the sample being sent to a specialist lab to be tested against an extensive profile of allergens, including grass and tree pollens. Then your pet is treated with a specific injection which desensitises your pet to the allergens it is allergic to.

Lungworm is a parasite worm that travels around your pets body through their blood and affects their hearts and lungs. In severe cases this can cause heart problems, breathing problems and pneumonia and in some cases can be fatal.
Dogs can get lung worm from eating larvae found in infected snails, slugs and frogs. Cats can get lungworm from infected birds and mice. This parasite is different to other worms that your pet can get.
